WorldSBK joins StayAtHome campaign with FREE content

New video and interview content to be available on worldsbk.com as the Championship backs the #StayAtHome campaign

With the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus impacting people across the world, the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has joined the #StayAtHome campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of ‘social distancing’ in order to help stop the spread of Covid-19, helping people to not be impacted by the virus.

The sporting community is just one of many communities that has been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and the WorldSBK paddock have already given their reactions to the current situation. Riders have shown support for following authorities’ advice, with five-time Champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) saying: “This time is difficult for everyone but the seriousness of Covid-19 is bigger than our sport so we must stand together following the authorities' advice.”

Rea’s Kawasaki teammate and Championship leader Alex Lowes added: “Let’s all come together in these difficult times to stick to the guidelines and try to gain control of this situation! So, let’s look forward to that and keep safe in the meantime!”

During this period, WorldSBK will be offering different content from classic races to interviews with riders. The first volume of our Essential WorldSBK Races was released on Monday and this is just some of the great content on offer. Throughout this week, we will have interviews with Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) and Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista (Team HRC), and an in-depth talk with three-time WorldSBK Champion Troy Bayliss.

As well as this, each weekend during the enforced break a FULL ROUND of WorldSBK action will be made available for free. Including all practice sessions aFriday. There will also be exclusive videos with the world's reaction to Phillip Island racing, featuring commentary from a variety of broadcasters.

Hey guys. The situation at the moment is strange; it’s so easy for us to be selfish and think about how this affects us personally but the most important thing right now is to listen to the experts and the people that know the facts to try to protect the health of our loved ones and the community. After such a strong start to the season for me it would be easy to loose sight of this and want to be racing. But let’s all come together in these difficult times to stick to the guidelines and try to gain control of this situation! It’s clear that when the @worldsbk racing gets going it’s going to be very exciting whether it’s in 3 weeks or 3 months. So let’s look forward to that and keep safe in the mean time!
